My name is Dusti Thorn, owner and coach at FUNctional Gymnastics Fitness!  My husband David and I have three young kids and live in Jackson, MN.

I grew up in a gymnastics family.  Both of my parents were NCAA Champion gymnasts for UW Oshkosh and have coached their entire adult lives. They currently own a competitive gymnastics club (Russell Gymnastics) in Stevens Point, WI.   I am the youngest of four siblings all of whom competed at a high level.  My oldest sister competed gymnastics at the University of Minnesota, my second sister competed at the University of Arizona and my brother has done Cirque Du Soleil shows all over the world. I followed my oldest sister Rehana to the University of Minnesota where I was fortunate enough to qualify for NCAA's both as an individual and as a team.

I met my husband David at the University of Minnesota where he wrestled. After graduation David opened up Thorn Wrestling Camps - an overnight camp system held in Odin, MN where athletes come from all over the country to train during the summer, fall, and spring.  I have coached preschool, rec and competitive gymnastics in WI and MN. We now live in Jackson, MN and are very excited to offer gymnastics training to the area!

I grew up watching my mom coach Preschool & compulsory gymnastics and my dad coach boys & girls team as well as boys gymnastics fitness classes. My dad would create elaborate set ups to get the boys climbing, running, jumping, & tumbling all while having a blast!  They would leave class sweating and many of them used it to get stronger for other sports. My mom made every student's introduction into gymnastics positive and FUN!  She created themes and curriculums to boost kids' love of movement.  I want to combine these two skill sets and create a space in southwest Minnesota for kids to thrive! My parents always finished their classes with a handshake and I intend to do same!
